Something I love about the Dominican Republic, and one of it’s best features I think, is that you can traverse this beautiful country in just a matter of hours. From Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata is about 3 hours. Santo Domingo to Punta Cana is under 3 hours in a car, close to 4 hours in a bus. Depending on how fast you drive you can make the journey in 2 and a half hours even. In a car you can travel from one of the most northern cities in the DR, Puerto Plata, all the way South, way down in the South for that matter to Barahona in 5 and a half hours. That’s pretty much from the most northern city to the most southern city in under 6 hours. If you love to travel this is great news for you because you don’t have to spend a long time in a car or bus.
